ABOUT NORTHLAND HEALTH + SAFETY SOLUTIONS
Northland Health and Safety Solutions (NHSS) specialises in providing health and safety systems support to small and medium sized business in the Northland region. Established in 2015 by Peter Corkill, NHSS offers a personlised service and eases navigation of the recently updated health and safety at work legislation.
Peter is a proud Northland local, having moved here as a child and residing in the area since, he is now 'living the coastal dream' with his family in Whangarei Heads. NHSS is the result of a career spanning 40 years in many of New Zealand's largest industrial and commercial industries, including engineering, manufacturing and maritime.
With extensive hands-on experience in a vast number of sectors, Peter knows first-hand about the importance of safety in the work place. He has considerable on-the-job training in fields such as confined space entry, hazardous substance handling, working at heights and has also delivered training on these subjects for Safe Trades, Northtec. It's from personal experience also, that he understands how establishing and maintaining an effective health and safety system in the workplace can at times be daunting and confusing.

Peter is fully qualified in Occupational Health and Safety, achieving Level 3 and 4 National Certificates of Health and Safety and Level 6 Diploma of OH&S. He offers the right balance of expertise, common sense, practical advice and efficient communication. The NHSS services are flexible and designed to accommodate the needs of sole traders and small businesses, as well as larger organisations. Everything from onsite assessments, customised documentation and record keeping, through to running health and safety meetings and advice on drug and alcohol policies.
